Q: What plant does tapioca come from? A: Cassava (we said manioc and got it wrong).
Q: Who is the Reverend Hubert Brasier's daughter? A: Theresa May (we got that right through one member's canny thinking).
It was the first round of the annual WI quiz and Hay on WI came second. Three Cocks WI hosted it and deservedly won it. Not only that, they also managed to serve a very decent cup of tea to a large number of people in a church hall. A detail perhaps, but much appreciated when you're grappling with a list of fiendish anagrams (one of the rounds). Our team were supported by a band of enthusiasts cheering and waving special Hay on WI bunting - lovely.
It was good fun, and the best of luck to Three Cocks WI in the next round.
