Harts fits all

Our Valentine's February meeting was a fabulous visit by the lovely ladies from Harts of Monmouth to tell us all about the history of the bra, giving us fitting tips, playing "What's in the box?" as well as showing us a selection of their vast stock.

To thank them Sue shared a poem written by her mum, Margaret Morgan.

Ode to The Bra from Hay on WI

I’m standing in the fitting room trying to buy a bra,

I’ve been here over an hour and tried seven so far.

There are bras with straps too thin and bras with straps too wide

There are some with lace and bows and ribbon on the side,

Colours range from black and white, some are red and some skin-toned,

Some are plain and some are sporty, lots of them are boned.

I think I’ve tried them all, I’m beginning to despair

When in comes the assistant and gives me a knowing stare

“What size are you?” she asks. I said “I’m a 36B”

She smiles, gets out her tape measure and starts to measure me.

“You’re not a 36B” she says, “You need two sizes bigger

Something to give you a lift, that will enhance your figure”.

She brings me a bra that fits, and says “Just what I thought,

We always know at Harts how to give you perfect support”
