Celebrating 101 Years of Campaigns

Our February meeting led by Trish Richardson was ‘Celebrating 101 years of WI Campaigns. We had to match up the campaign images with the year... which was not as easy as it first appeared. Then Trish took us through the featured campaigns. The very first WI resolution was passed in 1918 at the NFWI’s second Annual Meeting and called for a ‘sufficient supply of convenient and sanitary houses, being of vital importance to women in the country’. The 2020 campaign includes ending violence against women with the "Million Women Rise" march. It was a really interesting look at the history of WI campaigns which cover an incredible range of issues, increasing public awareness and bringing about real change.
